چکیده

The voltammetric lability of a complex system where a metal ion M and a ligand L form the species ML and ML2 is examined. Together with the rigorous numerical simulation of the problem, two limiting cases are analysed for the overall process ML2 → M: (i) the most common case for aqueous complexes where ML → M is the kinetically limiting step and (ii) the case where ML2 → ML is limiting. In both cases, analytical expressions for the lability criteria are provided which show good agreement with the results obtained from the rigorous numerical simulation of the problem. Voltammetric Study of Cd2+ Complexation with some Compounds of Garlic

The complexation of Cd2+ by diallyl disulfide (DADS) and diallyl sulfide (DAS) has been studied by differential pulse voltammetry. Stability constants, (log β), of the 1:1 (PbL) and 1:2 (PbL2) complexes, where L = ligand, were found to be in the range of ca. 5.8 - 6.2 and 9.6 -10.6, respectively. Complex formation is accompanied with a significant decrease in the peak current and the shift of t...

Kinetic mixture effects in diffusion gradients in thin films (DGT).

The penetration of complexes into the resin domain of the DGT devices has a large influence on the lability degree of these complexes, since the reaction layer (the layer where there is net dissociation) extends from the diffusive gel into the resin domain. Numerical simulation shows that, typically, the contribution to the metal accumulation from dissociation of complexes inside the resin doma...

Spectroscopic evidence of Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes having amino acid based Schiff base: A special emphasis on in vitro antimicrobial, DNA binding and cleavage studies

A new Schiff base ligand (L) obtained by the condensation reaction of N-acetylaceto-otoluidineand 2-aminopropanoic acid (an amino acid), is used to synthesize four mononuclearcomplexes of [MLCl] and [ML2] types (where M = Cu(II) and Zn(II); L = Schiff base) bykeeping the metal and ligand ratio as 1:1 and 1:2 respectively. This ligand and its complexeshave been characterized on the basis of diff...

Synthesis of some Novel Metal Complexes of 4-Hydroxy Benzopyran-2-Ones as Antimicrobial Agent

Complexes of 3-[{3-(3'-bromo phenyl)}-prop-2-enoyl]-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-chromen-2-one with Cu(II), Ni(II), Fe(II), Co(II) and Mn(II) have been synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, IR spectra and conductivity measurements. These studies revealed that they are having octahedral geometry of the type [ML2 (H2O)2]. In-vitro antimicrobial activity of all synthesized compounds and...
